The House Federal & State Affairs Committee voted in favor of legislation to end in-state tuition rates for illegal immigrants Thursday. Kansas’s four Catholic bishops submitted a joint statement to the Committee urging legislators to show compassion to young adults who in many cases were brought to Kansas at an early age by their parents, and have known only Kansas as home.
