Governor Signs Ban on Dismemberment Abortions

April 7, 2015

When Governor Brownback signed SB 95 this morning, Kansas become the first state in the country to ban dismemberment abortions, a brutal procedure in which an unborn child is torn limb from limb.  This procedure is typically used on unborn children that are 3-5 months along in a pregnancy.  There are roughly 600 dismemberment abortions each year in Kansas, but they will be illegal beginning July 1, 2015.
